Announcement:
TARANG, THE RENOWNED FESTIVAL OF INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC AND DANCE IS NOW CALLED URISE UTSAV. Following 11 successful editions under the name Tarang, the festival has been rebranded as URise Utsav to reflect the organization’s evolving vision. Additionally, what was once an annual event will now be held biannually, starting in 2023.
A National Festival of Indian Classical Music and Dance
For over a decade, TARANG has been a platform for solo performers, giving young artists a stage to showcase their talent. In 2023, we reimagined this iconic festival, giving it a fresh new identity and focus. Today, URise Utsav proudly features duet performances, providing a platform for artistic collaboration, creativity, and innovation.
WHAT’S NEW?
- Duet Performances: Shifting from solos to vibrant duet collaborations
- Innovative expression: Artists bring innovative themes, productions, and fresh ideas to the stage, pushing the boundaries of tradition.
- Guest Artist: The closing performance will feature a talented young artist, invited to share their art. This serves as both an inspiration to the audience and a motivational example for the participating artists. It demonstrates the heights they too can reach with continued dedication and sadhana.
A key highlight of URise Utsav is that young artists get the opportunity to perform in front of the distinguished Taranga Ratna Awardees—veteran musicians and dancers who are honored during the event. This provides invaluable exposure and recognition for the next generation of artists, as they showcase their talent in the presence of these esteemed artists.
